A description of the technical terms referenced on the websites pages can be found in the Knowledge Base.
By clicking through the options you will be presented with a info sheet which will give you all the necessary data required which is then downloadable as a .PDF or a .HTML file.
CLICK ON THE BOXES TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION ON HOW TO USE THE DATABASE.
The first tab will provide a drop box to select your chosen manufacturer
That will provide a list of product entries from that manufacturer.
This identifies whether the product is suitable for use internally, midpane or on the outside of the window. For those products that can be fitted to both the output will show the different performance values.
This defines which material the product has been manufactured from. Typically this will be either fabric (shown as just "material") or materials that are suitable for slat.
The product selection list all of the products that the preselected manufacture has uploaded onto that database. It is worth noting that these products have ALL been peer assessed.
This enables the type of glazing to be selected from the default (typical) glazing types in the standards (see in the Knowledge Base). The industry standard for comparison purposes is reference Glass C EN ISO 52022/1
ES-SDA offers a range of possible output as a result of the product that have been uploaded. The current range of outputs include the data properties of the material with and without glazing, information for EDIBATEC, ESBO and EPBD.
This is the energy performance data with a list of the material properties. It will show the Gtot and Visible light transmission (Tv) values for shading combined with the reference glazing. These are the main items for energy performance that are described in the Knowledge Base.
These are the properties of the product when measured in the laboratory and are the inputs for building modelling software
This option provides the user with information that is required for the French Building Codes. Information can be taken directly from the database and used in conjunction with building projects that are conforming to EDIBATEC.
This provides the inputs for a building modelling system designed to provide a simple assessment at design stage. The ESBO tool is described in the low energy page
ESBO (Early Stage Building Optimization) is a drag and-drop tool for importing complex building products into a simulation model. It has an easy-to-use and intuitive interface while still using the sophisticated simulation engine found in the full system.
It does not require complex modelling skills and is intended to provide an indication of actual performance. The building is simulated with hourly climate data at short time steps, and the results are high-resolution predictions on comfort conditions, energy use and cost savings. A more advanced user interface is available for more detailed assessment.
Translating measured product parameters into the dynamic reality of how it performs in an actual building situation can be difficult to convey. ESBO provides an easy way to do this.
The section on shading has been developed in conjunction with SSF the Swedish Shading Association.
You can find more information about the underlying simulation model and download the free tool at ESBO Lite
This is required for the Belgian Building Codes and this key will provide the outputs for the calculation of the EPC which the Energy Consultant requires for shading products.
The documentation is downloadable from the pdf opposite This describes to requirements for data submission and the process for peer review.
